The Isle of Capri (emphasis on the first syllable)

We first learned how to say Capri correctly, with the emphasis on the first syllable.  That makes the word sound gentle and relaxed. Mid you say it the way we usually do, with the emphasis on the second syllable, it makes the word sound harsh and sharp.  So from here on...CApri.

We had to leave the hotel quite early to get on the bus, drive the windy narrow road down to Sorrento and get on the boat. It was already very warm when we got there at 9:00. We immediately got on a smaller boat and started to go around the island, noticing the lava rock, the grottos, the blue grotto, the huge rocks, the Tunnel of Love, and the incredibly blue of the Mediterranean Sea.  At one point the driver stopped the boat and those that wanted to could jump off and swim in the ocean while the rest of us took pictures and watched. Jake loved every minute of his very expensive swim! :). 

When we returned from that boat ride, we took the finnicula (tram) up the hillside to the shops where the rich and the famous shop.  The hotels are 400 euros for one night and all the shops are high end brand names.  We walked around but did not walk in.  We had some free time as well, so went down to the port level, had some lunch and looked around there for a bit.  Then it was back on the boat to Sorrento, back on the bus to the hotel and then in the pool for a little while.  Tonight there was an optional excursion which some of us did not take, and we ate our dinner here at the hotel.  Tomorrow we are up early and on our way to Pompei and Assisi.  Should be a very interesting day.
